Peak Season & Multipliers
Configure date-range-based pricing boosts that automatically apply to bids for trips departing during high-demand periods.
Peak season multipliers let you automatically boost your rates for trips that fall within high-demand date windows — summer charter season, holiday travel, graduation weekends, or local events — without manually adjusting every bid.
When you submit a bid for a trip whose departure date falls within a configured peak season window, the system applies the multiplier to your base rates automatically. The bid preview reflects the boosted amount before you submit.
Set up peak season multipliers before your busy season starts, not after trips are already posted. Multipliers only affect new bid submissions — they have no effect on bids you have already submitted.
Multiplier Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Start Date | The first day of the peak season window. |
| End Date | The last day of the window, inclusive. A trip departing on the end date receives the multiplier. |
| Multiplier | Percentage boost applied to your base rates during this window. For example, 25 means all base rates are multiplied by 1.25. |
You can define multiple multipliers on the same pricing config — for example, a Summer window and a separate Holiday Season window — as long as their date ranges do not overlap.
Overlapping date ranges between two multipliers will cause a validation error when you try to save. Keep date ranges non-overlapping — either leave a gap between them or end one window the day before the next begins.
How Multipliers Are Applied
When the system calculates a bid:
- It checks the trip's departure date against all peak season windows defined in the pricing config being used.
- If the departure date falls within a window, the multiplier for that window is applied to the base rates.
- The bid preview and final bid amount reflect the boosted total.
- The multiplier value is captured at submission time. If you later edit or delete the multiplier, existing submitted bids are not retroactively recalculated.
Common Use Cases
| Season | Typical Date Range | Suggested Boost |
|---|---|---|
| Summer charter season | June 1 – August 31 | +20% to +30% |
| Holiday travel | December 20 – January 3 | +25% to +40% |
| Graduation season | May 1 – June 15 | +15% to +20% |
| Local festival or sporting event | Targeted 1–2 week window | +10% to +25% |
These are starting points — adjust based on your market, vehicle availability, and historical demand.
