Vehicle Types
Reference guide for all vehicle types available in MXBS and how they match trip requirements.
Overview
MXBS uses a fixed set of vehicle types to categorize fleet vehicles and match them to trip requirements. Each vehicle in your fleet must be registered under one of the types below.
Vehicle Type is Permanent
Vehicle type is set when you register a vehicle in your fleet. It cannot be changed after registration. If a vehicle was registered under the wrong type, delete the vehicle and re-add it with the correct type.
Vehicle Type Reference

| Mid-Size Coach | 24–35 seats | Regional group travel, smaller tours, sporting events |
| Mini Bus | 14–24 seats | Small groups, corporate transfers, short-distance trips |
| Sprinter Van | 10–14 seats | Airport transfers, executive transport, small private groups |
| School Bus | 40–72 seats | School field trips and sports travel — economical for student groups |

How Vehicle Types Match Trip Requirements
Trip owners specify the vehicle types and counts they need when posting a trip (e.g., "2x Full Coach and 1x Mini Bus"). When you bid on a trip:
- You bid on specific vehicle type slots. You may bid on a subset of the required types if you do not operate all requested types. For example, if a trip requires Full Coaches and Mini Buses, you can submit a bid covering only the Full Coach slots.
- When the trip owner reviews bids, they can accept bids from multiple operators to fill different vehicle type slots.
Assignments and Vehicle Types
During assignment, your fleet vehicles are filtered by vehicle type to match the slot being filled. For example, if a trip slot calls for a Full Coach, only vehicles registered as Full Coach type appear in the assignment picker.
Your fleet vehicles must be registered with the correct vehicle type to appear as valid options during the assignment process. A vehicle registered as a Mini Bus cannot be assigned to a Full Coach slot, even if its actual capacity would qualify.
Choosing the Right Type at Registration
Use the capacity ranges and use case descriptions in the table above as a guide when registering a new vehicle. If your vehicle sits on the border between two types (e.g., a 35-seat coach), select the type that most accurately reflects how you market and operate the vehicle, since trip owners will filter by type when posting requirements.
